Ballot Box Finder
Privacy & Data Use
Last updated: September 8, 2026
What you enter
When you use the finder, you enter a street address, city, state, and ZIP code. We use that information to perform the ballot-location lookup you requested.
How the lookup works
Our server sends the address to the Google Civic Information API. We use the response to display election details, official election links, and available ballot drop-off locations. The lookup does not register you to vote, verify your voter registration, or determine your legal eligibility.
The Google Civic Information API provides data for elections supported by the Voting Information Project (VIP). Google describes that information as including data published and verified by election officials, along with data collected from official sources by trusted partners. This site does not independently verify every result.
For more information, see Google’s Civic Information API documentation and developer data guidelines.
What we retain
This site does not create accounts, set cookies, use analytics, or intentionally store submitted addresses. Application logs are designed not to contain submitted addresses or API keys. The Google API key is kept server-side and is not sent to your browser.
AWS and other hosting or security providers may process technical information—such as IP address, timestamp, browser, and request metadata—as part of operating and protecting their services. This site does not use that information for advertising or analytics.
Links to other services
If you open a Google Maps result or an official election-office link, your request is handled by that linked service under its own privacy policy. This site does not control how those services process information.
Accuracy and official confirmation
Election information is election-specific and may be incomplete, unavailable, or changed near Election Day. A missing result does not necessarily mean that no location exists. Confirm current hours, deadlines, eligibility, and voting instructions with your state or local election office.
